Volunteering in Ghana
Welcome to Ghana, one of Africa’s most celebrated countries. With over 40 languages spoken throughout its 10 regions, it is a captivating place to live and work, and VSO has been active here since 1958.
Ghana has not experienced the ethnic and civil wars that have affected many other West African nations. But there are still many challenges faced by the local population, including significant regional inequality.
Could you play a part in bringing positive change to this nation through our education or livelihoods programmes? We need need both professional, long-term volunteers and young volunteers.
With more than 50 years’ experience of supporting volunteers, you will be in good hands. We will do all we can to help you settle and make the biggest difference.
All the best,
Sanjay Awasthi, Country Director, 2017*
